On the 29th November 2008, Peter sadly passed away at Barnsley District General Hospital after a 5 year struggle with pulmonary fibrosis, aged 64.
My dad had such an active life and regularly enjoyed rural walks, fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting and also attending horse events with his daughter Chantelle.
After leading such an active life, it was terrible to see the effects of the pulmonary fibrosis had on my dad's life, until eventually he was confined to an armchair with 24 hour oxygen and even unable to speak for longer periods than 20 seconds.
After waiting several years, my dad was so pleased to have his first grandchild, Jack who was born on the 22 July 2007.He really enjoyed the time he spent with Jack even though he couldn't spend a more active roll.
We have decided to raise funds for the British Lung Foundation in memory of my dad, to bring further awarness of this desease and hopefully find a prevention or cure.
